The San Diego Padres edged the Cincinnati Reds at Jack Murphy Stadium by the
score of 4 to 3.
Cincinnati was unable to claim the lead after San Diego went ahead in the 5th
inning scoring a single run. Cincinnati made it exciting in the 9th, but
they were unable to push the needed runs across.
Brent Strom(4-0) picked up the victory, allowing 3 runs in 8 and 2/3 innings.
Danny Frisella gained credit for his 4th save. Fredie Norman(4-3) was
charged with the loss.
