The Cincinnati Reds had very little trouble at Veterans Stadium downing the
Philadelphia Phillies. The score was 9 to 3.

Cincinnati won the game with a rally in the 9th inning as they scored 6 runs
on 4 base hits. The highlight belonged to Joe Morgan who quieted the home
crowd when he smashed a two-run homer (his 7th of the season). Cincinnati
and Philadelphia each finished the night with 9 hits.

The victory went to Clay Carroll(2-3) who went 1 inning, allowing no runs.
Gene Garber(1-2) was charged with the loss in relief.
