Pete Rose hit a homerun and had 2 RBI as the Cincinnati Reds defeated the
slumping Montreal Expos 6 to 5 at Jarry Park.
Cincinnati scored the deciding run in the 9th inning. After an out was
recorded, Tony Perez doubled. One out later, Cesar Geronimo came up and he
delivered a single scoring the run. Montreal was set down quietly in the
bottom of the 9th.
Pedro Borbon(3-4) got credit for the victory, pitching 2 innings and allowing
no runs. The loss was charged to Chuck Taylor(0-2) in relief. He surrendered
1 run and 3 hits in 1 and 2/3 innings.
