Dan Driessen left the yard and had 2 RBI at Riverfront Stadium as the
Cincinnati Reds beat the Chicago Cubs 5 to 4.
Cincinnati jumped on top to stay in the bottom of the 6th inning scoring 2
runners on 2 hits. Chicago threatened in the 9th but their rally came up
short.
Gary Nolan(5-5) was the winner allowing 4 runs in 6 innings. Nolan was helped
out by Rawly Eastwick who recorded his 2nd save. Rick Reuschel(4-8) took the
loss. He surrendered 8 hits and 3 walks in 8 innings.
'I always am most impressed when a pitcher finds a way to win even without his
best stuff,' Sparky Anderson said after the game. 'Nolan did not have
command of his pitches most of the afternoon, but he proved he really knew
how to pitch!'
