First baseman Dan Driessen had 4 hits at Fulton Co Stadium where the
Cincinnati Reds beat the Atlanta Braves by the score of 5 to 1.
Cincinnati started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half of
the first scoring a single run utilizing 2 base hits. Cincinnati had 12 hits
for the night while Atlanta had 3.
The victory was credited to Tom Carroll(2-0) who went 6 innings, allowing 1
run. Fredie Norman recorded his 1st save. Carl Morton(7-7) was hit with the
loss. He was hit hard and gave up 11 hits and 2 walks in 7 and 2/3 innings.
Cincinnati continued their winnings ways improving their record to a division
leading 46-26. They are 9-1 in their last ten games. With the loss Atlanta
now has a record of 33-40.
