In a lop-sided win the Los Angeles Dodgers ripped the Cincinnati Reds by a 7
to 2 count.
 
Cincinnati was unable to recover after Los Angeles went ahead in the 2nd
inning scoring a single run.  Doug Rau(1-1) got relief help from Rick Rhoden
who was excellent in relief and gained credit for his 1st save.  
 
The loss was charged to Jack Billingham(0-1).  He allowed 5 runs and 6 hits in
7 innings.
