At Shea Stadium the New York Mets were battered 8 to 2 by the Cincinnati
Reds.
Pete Rose had a good evening at the plate. He laced a single plating a run in
the 3rd inning and clubbed a three-run home run (his 2nd of the season) in
the 9th inning. Cincinnati ended up with 11 hits for the game while New York
had 8.
Don Gullett(6-1) went 8 innings allowing 2 runs for the win. Randy Tate(1-2)
suffered the loss. He pitched 6 innings allowing 8 hits and 2 walks.
