Rau(4-1) gave a fine effort for Los Angeles. He surrendered 9 hits and 1 walk in 9 innings. Los Angeles totaled 12 hits on the afternoon. John D'Acquisto(0-3) was the losing pitcher. He was touched for 6 hits and 3 walks in 3 and 2/3 innings. The Los Angeles ballclub's record now stands at 9-10. Pittsburgh jumped on top of Philadelphia in the 2nd inning when they scored 2 runs on 2 hits. That was all the runs Rooker(1-1) needed. Pittsburgh managed 11 hits in their victory. Wayne Twitchell(3-1) absorbed the loss. He pitched 4 innings allowing 6 hits and 4 walks. 'All of my pitches were working today,' Rooker said. 'I felt really good out there, and heck, I think I could have gone longer.' ST.
